For many years, the WF Outreach Committee has offered the opportunity to its members and friends to volunteer at Pruitt Health Nursing Home in Jasper. This committee plans events to help make the shut ins at Pruitt feel special and valued. Each month, birth- days are celebrated with balloons, cookies, cupcakes, and cards making sure these lovely residents know they are not forgotten. In addition, special holidays such as Easter, Halloween, and Christmas are celebrated in style with parties, complete with decorations and treats. The residents and staff are always so grateful, but our volunteers are blessed as well by spending time with these incredible people. Won’t you join us?
The faith-based mission of the Community Thrift Store is to “serve members of our community who find themselves in need of essential goods and basic life-enhancing services.”
WF provides volunteers to do a variety of jobs. No experience is necessary!
There is a place for everyone! Some volunteer opportunities include sorting donations, processing (items are priced and moved to the sales floor), cashiers/baggers who assist customers checking out, and customer service (greet and welcome customers and answer the phone). This is an amazing Outreach opportunity to help residents of Jasper and the surrounding area. Shifts are 10 am to 2 pm and volunteers can work any day of the month.
